Facebook Places

Facebook has just announced Places, the long-awaited feature that brings location-based functionality to the most popular social network in the world.

Whether you’re a developer with a great app idea, a business with an interesting location marketing plan or just a regular Facebook user who wants to get involved with Places, there are a few details to note before you start using Places. The feature is fascinating, but it still has its limitations. And our guide isn’t without caveats, especially for users.If you’re ready to start playing, here’s what you’ll need to know about Places.

First of all, you or a Facebook friend in your group will need a smartphone. If you don’t have an iPhone, you’ll have to use the Facebook touch mobile site on a browser that supports both HTML 5 and geolocation.The company does plan to roll out Android and BlackBerry versions of Places, but they haven’t released any specific dates for those releases yet.To use Places, go to the Places tab on the iPhone application or touch.facebook.com. You’ll first be asked if Facebook is allowed to know your location. Once you click “allow,” you’ll enter the Places interface. From there, you can share your location with friends, find out where your friends are (if they’re using Places), and discover new places near you.You can add places, check in to places that already exist, and tag people who are with you. If you’re checking in for a group, make sure you tag your friends before you checkin, yourself. For example, I added my house and checked in there...

WeTransfer - Transfer Large Files For Free...

Sharing and sending large files over the internet is typically a pain in the neck. Largely due to the fact that most file storage limits are 50Mb to 100Mb, or 200Mb for paid services such as rapidshare.

A new service from WeTransfer is a user friendly and free file transfer service that allows up to 2Gb to be shared, with up to 20 people, for up to 2 weeks. Beat that!

Common file sharing services typically are difficult to navigate, they almost always have annoying end user download wait time. WeTransfer has none of this nonsense. You can select as many files as you want to send at one time (under 2GB) and you can send an email notice up to 20 recipients with a note attached. Best yet, your files are held for 14 days before deletion.
WeTransfer makes waiting less boring by rotating the background wallpaper of the site while you are uploading.It boasts a nice friendly to use - and look at - interface, 14 day file retention, 20 users per email notification, and up to 2Gb storage. Impressive!

The Sorcerer's Apprentice Movie Screening

The movie was really great, the visual effect was really awesome. Here the synopsis of the story, Nicholas Cage stars as Balthazar Blake, an ageless sorcerer, who’s been fighting alongside fellow sorcerer Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina) & sorceress Veronica (Monica Bellucci) under the guidance of sage sorcerer Merlin, against the evil Morgana Le Fay. In 740 AD, Horvath turns against them and along with Morgana, kills Merlin but before they could wreak havoc upon mankind, Veronica absorbs Morgana within herself and Balthazar entraps all three into a prison-doll called the grimhold. Merlin suggests Balthazar should search for a sorcerer who’s the Prime Merliner, one who’s destined to defeat these evil powers. Balthazar’s quest cuts across history before he finds David Stutler (Jay Baruchel). Balthazar becomes Dave’s master and as his apprentice, Dave must learn to control the magical powers and use them to save the world! I rate this movie 8/10...

i City Shah Alam

I-City - Shah Alam where they named it as Lights Wonderland @ I-City, Shah Alam where all the decorations like christmas tree, trees, pheonix, some animals all is made by lights. In short I-City is the latest MSC Malaysia Cybercentre Zone @ Shah Alam, Selangor. Below is the picture i took at I-City, Shah Alam ...
After came out from there, i stay at outside and taking photos on the decorations outsides. It is very nice and and the way they hang the lights is more a like starts falling down from the sky. After taking the picture, i walk to the other side, which is the next road there got people selling some snacks. I’m not sure how long the display will be there, do go and check them out. Its really a heaven for photographers.

Here’s the map to I-City...

The Last Airbender Movie Screening

If you are a fan of the Avatar: The Last Airbender Series found on the Nickelodeon Channel, then you will be disappointed in the movie. AND DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE 3D VERSION, IF YOU MUST SEE IT.

I was a huge fan of the original show and whenever something is remade into a movie it hardly ever lives up to the original. My thought was proven wrong rather quickly as the movie showed me that it was trying to live up to the original in a beautiful way that only Shyamalan could bring to the screen. But the movie is been cut from one full season to a 90 minute movie. To me it felt like the story was in fast forward. However after talking to friends who saw the movie and didn't see the show they said the movie felt like it was the right pace. The other problem I had was compared to the original show this was a more serious take on the fiction. In the animated show humor is a big component to the series however other than one funny part the jokes and humor is missing from the movie. This doesn't make the movie any less enjoyable it is just a warning for fans of the series. Don't expect to see the trademark humor in the movie.

I just want to point out some flaws and I will make it short.
  • Aang shouldn't have been talking to the dragon spirit for guidance, he should have been talking to Avatar Roku. Was he ever mentioned? I don't think so.
  • Avatar Roku who is the past Avatar, who will guides Aang but he is not even in the movie
  • Aang has no feelings for Katara.. yet. The movie is based on Book 1.
  • Commander Zhao is an incompetent dude.. not too much of a bad ass villain.
  • Zuko whines too much than he is mad at the world.
  • I can barely notice Sokka's sarcasm.
  • And was Momo named?
  • The scar of Zoku is unnoticeable.
  • What's this about Azula being blood thirsty when she's stone cold and deadly?!
  • They dint event mention about "The White Lotus"
  • Where is The Warriors of Kyoshi who will became Sokka girlfriend??
  • They dint even show how Aang learn water bending
  • They dint even tell that the Master of Water Bending who teach Aang is actualy Sokka grandfather
  • Aang learns about Sozin's comet and some of the Avatar mythology
The list is just keep going, so i stop at here, truely i enjoy the movie and understand but just because i had fully watch the animated series of Avatar, for someone who dint watch the animated series would hard to understand the movie complete and wonder why the movie is dependent at the end. Hope they explain better in the Book 2: Earth (according to the series)... I rate this movie 6/10...

Personas for Firefox : Style Your Firefox

Are you tired of the plain theme of your Mozilla Firefox browser? Want to "dress" up you Mozilla Firefox browser? Haha, yes you can, with the new Personas for Firefox.

Personas for Firefox is an extension that adds lightweight theming to your browser. And all you need to do is look for the one that best suits your preferences.

Personas is a prototype that builds upon the ideas that:
- Themes today are too hard to find, install and use;
- Graphic designers should be able to style the browser without having to code;
- Browsers can be more than just desktop software, they can include online components;
- People just want their computer to be a little more fun and personal.

What's the difference between a Firefox theme and Personas for Firefox?
Themes change the appearance of Firefox. A Persona is a special type of theme that changes the look of your browser without changing the navigation buttons, toolbars, and menus. Until now, to apply a theme you needed to install it and restart your browser, like with extensions and other add-ons.
Now, with Personas you can instantly preview a design and install it in one click without needing to restart. All original themes are still available through addons.mozilla.org. Click here to learn more about using Themes and Personas.

How do I add Personas to my Firefox?
In less than 60 seconds, you can install a Persona and transform the look of your Firefox web browser. Just go here and click the green download button. After installation, you will be asked to quickly restart Firefox. Once Personas is installed, you'll be able to choose and change your selected Persona any time simply by clicking on the little fox mask in the lower left corner of your browser window or by visiting the gallery and selecting a different design.

How do I change my current Personas?
There are two easy ways to change your Persona:
- Visit the gallery, choose your favorite Persona, and click on your choice to instantly change the look of your browser. OR
- Click on the little fox mask in the lower left hand corner of your browser, then select a Persona that suits your style.

How do I uninstall Personas for Firefox?
If you've decided Personas doesn't work for you, you can uninstall with a few easy steps:
1. Open the Add-ons dialog box by going to "Tools->Add-ons"
2. Click on the "Extensions" button on the top
3. Select "Personas"
